With Eternity in Mind

Week after week, God has been showing me the difference between living in the temporal and living with eternity in mind. You see when you live in the temporal, you do things that are based on what is seen at the present moment, things that seems good for the moment, but when we live in eternity our perspective is not based on what is present or seen. You see our perspective changes. Today I may have ten dollars but if I continue to sow, I'll reap a harvest eventually. Today I may have no peace but if I continue to apply trust in God eventually I will have peace. You see your perspective changes based on the nature of your mind.

This is why the mind is so important and we are instructed to take every thought captive. For every thought that is not in alignment with God will direct our actions down the wrong path. 2 Corinthians 10:5
We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.
When we take thoughts captive, it says to make it obedient to Christ. I love this. The purpose is to ensure our obedience to the principles/laws of Christ that benefits us eternally.

We look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are unseen. The things which are seen are temporal and the things which are not seen are eternal. 2 Corinthians 4:18 (NIV)
Today lets focus our minds and our thoughts on the things unseen. Remember also Faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; it gives us assurance about things we cannot see.” (Hebrews 11:1 NLT) .

What we are hoping and waiting on may not be in the present but may be in the future. Moreover, when we sow seeds of righteousness today, it is for our eternal benefit. We must remember that the earth is only a passing ground, what we do here today, affects how we live in eternity. I want to live in the land of milk and honey, how about you? You see since hell/heaven is not in our present perirepherals we tend to  make decisions without them in mind. So today stop and ask yourself, is what Im doing today investing in eternity or just the temporal and adjust your life to make decisions in lieu of eternity where we'll be with our heavenly father. Amen!
